The Araputo Zen are born in the streets of Naples, a city full of stimuli and inevitably a source of great inspiration. The quintet formed by Dario De Luca and Valerio Middione on guitars, Alfredo Pumilia on violin, Bruno Belardi on double bass and Pasquale Benincasa on drums, percussion and vibraphone, offers an irresistible musical blend that encompasses different styles. Energy, determination, creativity are the key elements that determine important developments for the artistic career of these young musicians. An incessant research that has led to a maturation of an artistically omnivorous style. Numerous and varied are the influences that we can trace in their repertoire: World music, Folk, Rock, without ever forgetting their roots. That pinch of Neapolitan magic that makes their sound a panacea for the spirit.
Araputo's new work, Maiacosajusta, explores new sounds compared to the first album.
The sound of the acoustic instruments is mixed together with prog / rock sounds.
We could label the new work as Ethno / Prog.
The search for melody is always inherent in the Neapolitan quintet that this time tries to blend everything into a style that is no longer hybrid but now aware and mature.
