Lola’s World Records, the iconic label of global beats and sounds, breaks a global record, releasing the fifth edition of a compilation series featuring Turkish music within the “Global Beat” genre. Turkish music appeals not only to the citizens of this very country, but also storms worldwide as the outcome of a cultural fabric made up of a rich combination of diverse cultures and subcultures lying at the axis of the East, the West, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, possessing a wealthy history and particularly the energy of a young population. MADE IN TURKEY VOL.5, the new double CD album released with Lola’s World Records label is the latest compilation of DJ Gülbahar Kültür, known for creating an innovative fusion in her albums, finding the correct and delightful connectivity between diverse cultures, sounds and musical genres. Laden with special guests like the masters and celebrated newcomers of Turkish music and throbbing with genuine vitality, this totally sublime compilation album references artists and groups acclaimed within the Turkish music scenery, as heard in bars, lounges and clubs of the hip city of İstanbul. The first CD of the album called “RÜYA”, the word for “dream” in Turkish, is an amazing combination of songs, kleidoscoping the many elements of music to result in a colourful dream. Turkish Classical Music, Pop, Folk, Tango alla Turca, Rock, ethnic, urban and Oriental sounds build an aural milieu for a sophisticated, warm and truly inviting Turkish experience.
The second CD of the album “SEFA”, which means “pleasure” in Turkish includes rapturous tracks, arranged exquisitely one after the other to conquer audiences of all ages and origins with vitality and excitement. Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Romani and Black Sea tunes, Ska stamping with freedom patterns, Latin, Oriental beats, Ethnic Folk and Electronica are featured in the CD, setting the structure of an ecstatic dance party. An absolutely inspiring and surprising track of the album is a blend of Ottoman marching rhythms - the Janissary music, known to have influenced European classical musicians like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven, both of whom composed marches in the Turkish style - with today’s electronic grooves. MADE IN TURKEY VOL.5, by all means a catchy album, is a great outcome of cultural and musical juxtaposition: Orient meets Occident, yesterday meets now and tomorrow in a dream embellished with pure pleasure.
