Sometimes the creative process of production is amazing. I was wondering, listening to the old recordings of Keith Tippett or the first album of Aktuala by Lino, how they could sound if they were all members of a single band. So I took the opportunity to organize this performance in my hometown for "New Music at Piacenza Festival". I had worked with all four musicians before and felt that it could work by making them work together. They were all so generous that they agreed to make this project a new band and I'm sure there will be others in the future. It really was a magical evening. The four musicians have never played together before and this was exactly my plan: just a short sound check. The music was purely spontaneous and flowed freely as thoughts. Transition from the soul to the soul between them and the public. This recording is a witness to that magic. No trickery, no overdubs. It is spontaneous music at its best, far beyond any genre in which the four avant-garde living legends and the new music describe the thrill of an autumn night.
