"Earth!" Is the cry of a crew of monkeys just disembarked with a spaceship on the moon, where they will wander to explore craters and seas (like the titles of the pieces that make up the album). From this image the first album of Le Scimmie sulla Luna is born, produced by La Rivolta Records with the support of Puglia Sounds. The band from Lecce, born from the ashes of the Teenage Riot, a formation that had taken several satisfactions throughout the peninsula, has made an instrumental album with an international and experimental flavor. Their sound is a successful balance between tight rhythms and grooves that range from math to post-rock, through funk: hypnotic guitars that seem to change into synthesizers, passing from fresh and melodic riffs to experimental effectal contortions between delay and synth. The goal of Le Scimmie is to seek a point of contact between genres and different musical approaches, emphasizing and at the same time overcoming the dichotomy between what is rock and what is not. |
